Free AI visibility checker

This free AI visibility checker tests whether AI assistants can read your site at all: whether robots.txt lets each AI crawler in, whether a firewall answers them with a challenge page, whether llms.txt follows the format, and whether the homepage carries the markup answers quote. Every check is marked measured or not measured, so a blank never counts as a pass.

Three answers, never two

Passed
We read it and it's fine.
Failed
We read it and it's wrong. The fix comes with it.
Not measured
We couldn't read it, and we say why. It never counts as a pass or a fail.

Which AI crawlers does it check?

It reads robots.txt and decides, rule by rule, whether each of 5 AI crawlers may fetch your homepage: GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended. It quotes the line that decided each answer, tells search crawlers apart from training crawlers, and repeats the test on a sample of pages your homepage links to, because a rule that leaves the homepage open can still close the pages people ask about.

What happens when a firewall answers instead of your site?

Many sites sit behind a firewall or CDN that answers unfamiliar visitors with a challenge page. Most checkers read that page and grade it as if it were your site. This one checks every response for those pages. When it finds one, it names the vendor and the HTTP status, and each check that depended on that response says not measured rather than pass or fail, because nothing read from a challenge page is about your site.

What doesn't it do?

It doesn't ask ChatGPT or Perplexity about your brand, and it doesn't count citations in AI answers. It answers the question that comes first: can AI crawlers read the site, and is there anything on it worth quoting? To track citations, AI-referred visits and crawler hits over time, and grade each fix you ship, connect the site to Growth Radar.
